The key to Connect to Help is teamwork. You can’t (and shouldn’t) force someone to get help. Your role is to support them in finding the best resources or services for them and encouraging them and troubleshooting barriers to getting the help they deserve.
So your friend is struggling with mental health and you want to be there for them. The most important step you can take is to connect them to help. There are plenty of resources both online and in your community that can provide professional mental health services. Remember, it’s not always easy to access these services; there can be barriers such as cost and distance, as well as stigma and discrimination. The most important thing you can do is to follow up. Although if you do see any serious issues it’s great to encourage them to get help as soon as possible.
